Juniper Distillery
This 1h30mn long guided tour will help you discover one of the last juniper distillery of the country. Active for 200 years now, the Claeyssens distillery is a great legacy of our industrial and local heritage. Discover its manifacturing secrets step by step : grinding, cooking, yeasting, fermentation, distillation and aging. At the end of your tour, you’ll try a variety of products : Juniper, Whisky, Gin, Vodka…

- Guided tour : Because there is ongoing work in the distillery, the tour, for now, takes place outside the factory, around its walls and in the city center. It focuses on the city’s industrial heritage.

- Shop opening hours : From Tuesday to Friday, 10am-12:30pm & 2pm-6pm. Saturday, from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and 2m to 6pm.

Vert Galant fort, Wambrechies.
It is one of the last remnant of Général Séré de Rivières forts, also called « single-crested » forts, built after the 1870 war. It was built in order to protect Lille from a potential prussian invasion. Put good walking shoes on for this guided tour.

Discovering Wambrechies’ city-center.
The « Juniper city » is only 7km north from Lille, and is located on the Deûle riverbank. Although the first texts mentioning Wambrechies are from the 12th century, the civil parish is way older than that. Thanks to Jeanne de Constantinople and the channeling of the Basse Deûle from Lille to Deûlémont, thanks to the textile industry, the agriculture and Wambrechies’ seigneury, the city will grow.

Wandering Saint-André’s city center.
Saint-André’s faubourg has developed along the road from Lille to Ypres. When Lille’s fortifications were built, the faubourg was cut in half, and one part was included in the capital of french Flanders. The part that stayed outside the walls, more rural, became the actual town of Saint-André during the revolution. This guided tour will show you the iconic buildings of the city center.

Comines and its main square.
After the First World War, during which Comines was nothing but ruins, life could slowly begin again. The city streets and buildings are rebuilt based on the city’s past, and inspired by the flemish Renaissance style. The City Hall and the Saint-Chrysole church surface from the ground and create the Main Square. Through this guided tour, you will discover the UNESCO world heritage belfry, and a neo-byzantine church.

Doll and Ancient Toys museum.
Come and discover an amazing collection of toys from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century. The museum is inside the Robersart castle. Ancient flemish games are also available for you to try them in the museum.

Deule and Lys Valley touristic tramway.
Onboard of an authentic early 20th century tramway, enjoy a nice stroll along the riverbanks. Back then, those vehicles were a part of everyday-life. Boarding : Vent de Bise street (Wambrechies) or Deûle street (Marquette-lez-Lille) from April to September.
Practical information :
- Every sunday from April to September, from 3pm to 6pm. Every wednesday of July and August, from 3pm to 5:30. Stroll lasts about 40mn.

Mohair Farm.
Small familial farm in the city-center of Quesnoy-sur-Deûle. Angora goats and mohair wool took over chickens and cows. During this guided tour, you will learn everthing about wool-making.

Resistance in Nord-pas-de-Calais
